About me:
I am guitarist Nydia Toy and Rosanna Guitar Studio is my private teaching studio. I am passionate about teaching children to play guitar. My aim is to help each of my students develop musical ability and confidence, enabling them to enjoy learning and performing music.
The guitar is such a beautiful and adaptable instrument and has a place in so many different styles of music from all around the world. The wonderful thing about learning to play guitar is the variety of musical directions you can take, and how, from the the very first chords you learn, you are able to join with others in making music.
The musical direction of each student is unique and is guided by their own interests and aspirations, I teach various musical styles including classical, improvisation, and popular music. Musicianship and music theory is an integral part of each lesson whilst the focus is on creativity and developing excellent technique.
I have many years of experience playing, studying and teaching guitar. My formal studies include; Diploma of Music (Classical Guitar) Melba Memorial Conservatorium of Music, Certificate IV in Training & Assessment (Music) Monash University SCC, and I am currently completing a Bachelor of Music (Intercultural Music) at NMIT.
I have a current working with children's check, first aid training and experience teaching music to children with special needs; creating individual learning programs to suit each student.
